Philippine film fest

The Metro Manila Film Festival or Philippine film fest is an annual film festival, held in Metro Manila, Philippines. The focus of the festival is on locally-produced films. The festival was established in 1975, when the winner of best film was "Diligin Mo ng Hamog ang Uhaw na Lupa" (Water the Thirsty Earth with Fog), directed by Augusto Buenaventura.

During the run of the Philippine film festival, no foreign films are shown across the Philippines. Only Philippine film movies approved by the jurors of the Metro Manila Film Festival will be shown. The film festival starts on the 25th of December until the first week of January.
