Philippine cinema and entertainment

Entertainment in the Philippines is synonymous with live music and more. Everyone is a singer or a musician just like in Philippine cinema and entertainment, from the humblest farmer to the wealthy politician. Bands play in the seediest bars and the ritziest hotels, while popular local bands grace MTV and give regular concerts in certain clubs and shopping malls. Philippine people are Asia's troubadours, so you won't have to go far to find best live entertainment, whether your entertainment taste is for sultry lounge singers or hard rock.

Filipinos are enamored of Western people and love the cinema . Standard fare in the Philippines is either the Hollywood blockbuster or the Filipino blockbuster. You won't find more in the way of alternative cinema. Philippine films usually have plots revolving around love, violence, adult or all three. Seeing a movie in the Philippines isn't always a memorable experience because of the bizarre ticket system. You can not usually book a specific movie seat in advance, so you have to turn up and take potluck. Limitless movie tickets are sold, so you might end up standing at the back or sitting in an aisle. To make things worse, movies are screened continuously and you can enter the Philippine cinema at any time.
